Procurement
"By conducting transparent procurements that clearly set out our requirements, standards and expectations, we aim to procure quality services at the right cost, and to be Customer of Choice to the Agents who support the implementation of the BSC. Being Customer of Choice means that we make it easy for our suppliers to give of their best."
Stuart Senior, ELEXON Chief Executive
ELEXON seeks to procure the most cost effective services on behalf of BSC signatories
as described in
Section E of the BSC (52Kb)
.
We take great care in choosing our suppliers and expect them to strive for a high
standard of performance and be guided by a similar set of values to our own. We
also aim to build effective two-way relationships with our suppliers.
The Commercial Management & Procurement Team provides Commercial and Contractual support and guidance for Agent and non-Agent contracts and facilitates the delivery of procurements in-line with our Strategic Sourcing Procedures. To find out more about the team visit the Meet the Experts pages. Visit the Procurement Horizon page to find out about the team’s current projects.
We work with our suppliers to ensure that we obtain the maximum benefit from the areas
of their greatest expertise. "Best in class" industry suppliers operating in the
relevant sectors are monitored and assessed for suitability as future service providers
to ELEXON.
ELEXON adheres to the basic tenets of EU public procurement principles:
- Demonstrating fairness and transparency by following the relevant tenets and (where
appropriate) structure of public procurement requirements;
- Undertaking all procurements in accordance with the guiding principles of the promotion
of competition, non-discrimination and fair and equal treatment, including through
best practice, pre-determined tender procedures, the use of standard documentation
and consistent pre-determined evaluation criteria based on the concept of the most
economically advantageous tender.
We adhere to best practice in our procurement processes and our procurement staff
are Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualified, or are training
to be. If you have queries or comments on procurement, please email
