Isis Development Project
In April 2008, we awarded a new five year contract for the Business Process Outsourcing, Hosting and Communications aspects of the Central Systems for electricity settlement and balancing (delivered as part of Project Isis). Our attention now focuses on procuring Management and Development services for the associated hardware and software systems that comprise the Central Systems - the contracts for which expire in April 2010. Our bespoke systems were developed in the 1990s and our aim is to deliver system changes more efficiently, economically and effectively.
We’re investigating the options for the Settlement systems, such as, replacing the legacy systems with commercially available off the shelf systems, or re-engineering the current applications. The outcome of our investigations will help us define our upcoming procurement. More information on the procurement will be posted here in early 2009.
As part of this project, we issued a Request for Information (RFI) in July 2008 to better understand the feasibility of replacing the current legacy systems with commercially available off the shelf systems. The RFI can be downloaded from the table below. Please note that the response period for the RFI is now closed and we’re assessing the responses. We'd like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in the RFI and provided information for our investigations.
