Nick Durlacher CBE, is Chairman of the BSC Panel and of ELEXON.

After starting his career on the London Stock Exchange he became Chairman of Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt Futures Ltd, which in 1986 became part of the Barclays Bank Group. He served as a Director of LIFFE from 1984 to 1995 and Chairman from 1992 to 1995. Subsequently he was Chairman of the Securities and Futures Authority from 1995 to 2001. He served as a Special Advisor to Professor Stephen Littlechild during the formative stages of the New Electricity Trading Arrangements (NETA) and was first appointed Chairman of the Balancing and Settlement Code Panel and ELEXON in 2000 and reappointed every third year subsequently. Nick will retire at the end of September 2010.
