The P229 Assessment Procedure consultation has been extended, with responses requested by 5pm on Monday 11 January 2010. We have produced approximate Seasonal Zonal Transmission Loss Multipliers (TLMs) based on modelled data for the baseline, P229 Proposed and P229 Alternative arrangements. The TLMs are contained in the document below, which also explains the limitations of these approximate TLMs and how we suggest you can best use them as part of your analysis. We have also updated the initial consultation document, to include an additional question on High Voltage DC networks. The Modification Group raised the question of interaction of future technology with the Load Flow Model (LFM) and it was agreed that it would be impossible to future proof the LFM completely, but that consideration should be given to High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission assets to ensure that they could be modelled under P229. ELEXON and the Load Flow Modeller have worked together to draft an approach of how HVDC could potentially be modelled under P229. After reviewing this approach the Group are comfortable that HVDC could be modelled in the future, should P229 be approved and implemented. However, if there is anything else you feel should be considered, the document outlining the HVDC considerations and an updated consultation question form are published below. |
