Project Isis
In 2006, we created Project Isis to ensure that the BSC Systems continued to operate
effectively, efficiently and economically after the contracts then in place ended.
As part of our strategy to achieve this we have undertaken two procurements:
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)/Hosting services
This contract relates to these BSC Agent Roles:
- Balancing Mechanism Reporting Agent;
- Central Registration Agent;
- Supplier Volume Allocation Agent;
- Funds Administration Agent;
- Energy Contract Volume Aggregation Agent;
- Central Data Collection Agent; and
- Settlement Administration Agent.
We awarded this contract to Logica in April 2008. It started in early 2009 and runs until April
2014.
Application Management, Development and Strategic Development (AM/Dev) services
This contract relates to the maintaining and supporting many of our applications,
including those operated by the above BSC Agents.
We awarded the contract to Cognizant
Technology Solutions in September 2009.
We are now working with Cognizant to implement the services.
What are we doing now?
Following the award of the AM/Dev contract, we are running a project to manage the
transition of the application management and development services from Logica to
Cognizant. We’ve welcomed a number of the Cognizant Transition team onsite at ELEXON,
and some of the Cognizant team will be based offshore in Chennai, India.
We will work with Cognizant and Logica to ensure the smooth transition of the services;
and we plan to complete this work by 31 March 2010. The February 2010 BSC Systems
Release will be developed by Logica; the June 2010 BSC Systems Release will be developed
by Cognizant.
How can I find out more?
We will update the BSC Panel on the progress of the transition project each month
in the ELEXON report. If you are a BSC party and want to discuss Project Isis, please
email our Isis Development Project Manager,
Alex Grieve
. She will be happy to update you on our project. You can read about our previous
activities on the History of Project
Isis page.
