Who’s involved in Technical Assurance?
The Performance Assurance Board (PAB) agrees an annual scope of work for Technical Assurance. It details checks designed to provide assurance on high-risk processes and any gap areas not covered by other Performance Assurance Framework (PAF) techniques.
We conduct checks either via site visits or off-site reviews of information and data.
The following Performance Assurance Parties (PAPs) may be subject to checks at the discretion of the Performance Assurance Board:
If you are selected for a TA check, we will contact you with rationale for the check, timescales and a request for data.
When does Technical Assurance take place?
The scope of work is set during the approval of the Risk Operating Plan (ROP). The scope contains the checks we will perform during the period.

We produce an annual report on the results of the checks completed. This report is presented to the PAB and published on the Performance Assurance Reports page.
Past Technical Assurance checks
The PAB may commission a findings report following a programme of TA checks. These are available from the Performance Assurance Reports page.
Technical Assurance of Performance Assurance Parties is a detective technique in ELEXON’s Performance Assurance Framework.
