Register for Elexon’s workshops on enduring governance arrangements for the market facilitator role

We would like to invite interested parties to help us develop the enduring arrangements for the market facilitator role, through a series of six to seven workshops taking place between end 2024 and March 2025.

What will the workshops cover?

The workshops will examine key areas that we need to work through with stakeholders during the transition to the market facilitator operations in early 2026.

Topics include:

  • The detailed design work for the role in parallel to Ofgem’s ongoing work on this
  • The enduring Governance Arrangements and any transitional arrangements that may be required
  • Funding from industry parties to deliver the role
  • Market facilitator performance monitoring.

We are planning to hold two workshops before Christmas and the rest afterwards. We will publish a timetable following the first workshop.

When is the first meeting?

The first meeting will take place at 10:00 on 27 November. It will cover the scope and deliverables for the Market facilitator during the transition period to operations.

What is the market facilitator role?

In July 2024, Ofgem appointed Elexon as the market facilitator for distributed flexibility. Our goal is to work with flexibility market participants to create more open, coordinated and transparent local flexibility markets, and support their growth.
