Market Facilitator workshop 2 on budgeting and finance – 18 December 2024

This is the second of a series of online workshops with stakeholders to gather feedback on the proposed cost-recovery, budgeting and finance processes and proposals for the Market Facilitator role

The series of workshops will take place between November 2024 and March 2025.

Details of the event

Date: Wednesday 18 December 2024
Time: 10am – 2pm
Venue: This workshop will be held online

Purpose

We will seek to gather feedback on:

  • Cost Recovery Model
  • What class(es) of party should fund Market Facilitator, and how should costs be apportioned between them?
  • Budget Setting Process
  • Should the budget setting process be linked to (or separate from) the existing BSC budget-setting process?
  • How is the budget approved (e.g. role of Elexon Board)?
  • Checks and balances (to ensure stakeholder concerns are addressed)
  • Finance Processes
  • How often are funding parties invoiced?
  • What happens if there is a shortfall because some of them don’t pay?
  • How are budgeted and actual costs reconciled?
  • How can parties pay MF invoices?

In response to feedback from our first workshop, we will re-visit and finalise these topics at a later workshop, once the development of the enduring governance is progressed.
